Bible Reading and Study Plans

Continuing how I read and studied the Bible last year, I won’t use any dated reading plans but to focus on my set goal for 2025. My goal this year is to study the Bible chronologically on my own pace and to get better understanding of biblical timeline. I will map the promises, blessings, and curses from each Biblical book, chart the geneologies and timeline, and pay more attention to the geographical setting of Biblical events.

I will try my best to be unbothered with ‘not-so-pretty’ notetaking and focus on gleaning the treasures as I read the Bible. A dedicated day to revise and sort out my notes will be necessary, perhaps twice a month, once a month. I haven’t commited to anything on this and will see how it goes.

Bibles I Use

In 2023 I decided to take study notes straight in the Bible and to get a new Bible each year. Last year I used NKJV by Thomas Nelson as my main Bible (both for personal study and to read at Church). This year I decided to use Legacy Standard Bible one column for my personal study, and use NASB John MacArthur’s Study Bible to take to Church. I use the NASB for my personal study as well but I don’t add any notes in there.

My prayer Bible is still the same like last year. I have been using ESV the personal reference version one column by Crossway. You can see that I love one column Bible!! Best!

The only other bible that I use is a pocket LSB from Answer in Genesis (NT with Psalm, Proverbs, and of course Genesis!). My husband and I use this for our family worship and I take it with me to the Open Air.

Biblical Counselling Course & Other Studies

My study has been slow, but I have been encouraged to got to know a few more ladies at church that are also studying Biblical counselling. One of them is doing the same course as I am! My goal this year is to finish Phase One of the course, Lord willing.

I also have a few other studies I want to do this year such as learning more about Tabernacle, Church History, and Islam.

Note Taking

Still going strong with my current system but I added a little tweaks here and there for this year. I am planning to change my sermon notes to ‘by book’ system for easier sorting. I will talk more about this later.
