Hymns in Home
Why and what is Hymns in Home?
I was born and raised in a Christian family in Indonesia. My parents served at church; Dad was one of the deacons and mum helped in teaching the ladies, or the younger people. My childhood was pretty much following my parents serving in the church or at their schools, where dad served as a Christian education teacher and mum was a counselor in public and private schools.
I’m very grateful for how my parents taught me God’s word when I was little. Later I know that all the teachings and disciplines they taught me at home help me as I grow in my faith. Although I always point out, especially to my unbelieving friends, that I am saved not because I come from a Christian family–but by grace through faith, and that my faith is not something I can invent myself but a gift from God, I see the importance of discipleship at home.
This blog is written with the main purpose of glorifying God and sharing His truth. As Christian women, we must grow in faith—in knowing God and His Word so that we are not easily swayed away by wrong philosophies and teachings (Ephesians 4:14).
Hymn in Home is written to encourage us to be more diligent in reading and understanding the Bible, theology, and doctrine, and to be discerning as we face the challenges in our culture today.
