An Outreach: Kids in the Slum in Jakarta

My heart is filled with compassion for the needy. Can’t stop thinking about what can I do to serve them and bring joy.Since I came back to Jakarta, I’ve been looking for the opportunity to be a volunteer and do some social works.

I was invited to join an outreach with International English Service. When I read the email invitation, I know this is an open door from God. Then I contacted the pastor and he counted me in. Sunday- September 2, 2012, I went to Garbage Collector Community in Cilincing with the team and we did ministry there. I spent my time with the children, sketched, played chess, sang, and laughed. I really want to hug them all. It was my first outreach since I’m back here. Hopefully, I can join the next outreach with the IES team.
