My love of modest yet cute dresses comes with curiosity to create handmade dresses collection. This isn’t something new, as I did doodle dress designs growing up, and sold clothing I designed in the past -although I hired a seamstress back then.
My journey to sew my own designs has just started.
This soft (slightly velvety) blue suiting fabric lived in my fabric box for awhile, and did follow me around moving houses (except when I moved to US). I knew that I would like to make a dress with it. Many years later, here I am making it happen.
I sewed this dress to fit size 10. I am size 6-8, but I have a good reason to size up this dress. It is simply to give room for mistakes and for mending when needed.
This dress has POCKETS! Yes, I am obsess with pockets on my dresses/skirts. If I have plenty spare time, it’s a dream to add pockets on all dresses I own.
Bad sleeves – Despite loving how this dress turned, I dislike the sleeves. Never mind, I sure can redo the sleeve when I have spare time.
